The palace, built in different eras of time and hosting a collection of historical buildings, is considered as one of the most important historical sites in the country in terms of its architecture and the value of its artistic and historical works.
Although the Golestan Palace is attributed to the Safavid era in Iran, its most important historical period goes back to the early Qajar era.
The valuable buildings were registered as a national monument in 1955 and as an UNESCO world heritage in 2013.
